In honor of the New Missionary Ages I present to you Sister Dagley. Isn't she cute!?! (and it's not because she looks exactly like I did when I was two) She wanted to wear her missionary badge all day.

I love the new announcement. I know I was not ready when I was 19 but since I have spent the last three years working in the Young Women I can tell you this is definitely a different generation. And they are ready!! The gap between good and evil is getting bigger. God needs everyone who is willing and worthy to serve. I am so excited for the young girls who are preparing to accept their mission calls.

Fall Colors

This weekend was amazing. As we listened to conference this weekend, Josh and I went for a few different drives to see the fall colors. We hit Heber Valley, Logan Canyon and Bear Lake. All the colors were beautiful and breathtaking. We enjoyed the scenery plus our Rasberry shakes ;).

If you are ever feeling discouraged or forgotten- go take a walk (or a drive in my case) outside "among your blessings". You won't be able to NOT feel the love of our Heavenly Father through his mighty and beautiful creations.

Summer Lovin...Had me a blast!

Josh and I had a great summer. The first summer in 3 yrs. where every day wasn't 100+ degrees. (Which I secretly missed off and on) This summer has been full of beautiful hikes, hangin out at the cabin, demolition derbys, friends and family! I am kind of sad that summer is almost over but also excited to see fall again.

Redrock Relay

Jay completed her first relay this weekend!! She drove down to St. George and ran the Redrock Relay with her sister and friends. They started in Cedar City and ran all day and night to St. George! I still have not figured out the mentality of runners yet. That just doesn't sound fun to me, but Jay said she had a blast!! I am so proud of her!! She is an amazing woman and a great runner!

Road Trippin

Right after Josh's graduation we decided to go on a little road trip to celebrate.We knew that we had to do it before Josh started work or we wouldn't be able to for awhile. So, we packed up the car on a whim and headed out. I love road trips. We had a blast! We stayed at KOAs along the way and when we got to Nauvoo we stayed at my parents condo (which was amazing). Life really is good! We went to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore (though it was too cloudy to see a thing so that is still on my bucket list), Mark Twain's home town and cave, Carthage, Nauvoo and a couple other stops on the way!

What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas!

Even though Josh spent almost three years living, working, and gaining a fine education at UNLV he has decided to not stay in Las Vegas.

Josh and I will be packing our bags and moving to, errr, I guess I should say I will be finally unpacking my bags and settling in my parents basement. You see, when Josh and I moved into the parents basement I didn't want to unpack everything just yet, in hopes that him and I would set out on another adventure.

Josh accepted a job in Layton, UT at Wasatch Peak. I am really happy for Josh, for his next adventure and for well, paychecks. :)

Bryce Canyon National Park

After Josh's graduation we decided to take a little detour on our drive home. Josh and I weren't in too much of a hurry to get back home and I had never been to Bryce Canyon so we decided to be a bit spontaneous and make the stop. We also got my parents to come (plus, my Dad has one of those senior passess to National Parks so he can get into any of them for free- which we benefit from when we jump in his car!) and be spontaneous we us.

I loved having my parents there, even if they did have to sit down a lot and take "pondering breaks".

INTRODUCING DOCTOR MILLS:

This past weekend Josh finally graduated! After years and years of school he is finally out! "He did a fabulous job on his research project that was presented on Friday. I actually enjoyed attending his graduation. Usually, I find them quite boring (and this happened to be one of the longest ones I have been too) but this time I was eager to attend. I also had two of my nieces there to help me pass the time. :)
I am immensely proud of my wonderful husband. He worked so hard. I am grateful to stand next him and to share in his accomplishments.

To Me These Are Things To Be Grateful For:

Dishes.

What?! Did that word just actually come out of my mouth? It SURE did. I've learned a great thing this last week. No, I did not discover that I like to do dishes. I discovered rather, that I miss having them. Josh has been gone this whole week and when he asked me if I would miss him I said, "of course, but I will finally have a clean kitchen!" Well, the clean kitchen was amazing for only one whole day. I discovered that a clean kitchen is not as satisfying as a messy husband and wife. I want my sink full again, dangit! If it's full again that means my husband is back and we are out living life. Ask yourself, "What if there's always cups in the sink?" You'll find out that the answer isn't as terrifying as you might imagine it to be.

Job Interviews.

For months now, Josh and I have been praying for job opportunities. We have prayed both silently, alone and together. I love praying with my husband. There is nothing sweeter than to hear his voice as he talks to God. We both have different ideas when it comes to where we wanna live but as we pray togther I can feel us uniting and striving to understand the Lord's will and not our own individual wants. This month Josh has had many job interviews and we feel very blessed for that. Josh has yet to accept a job but hopefully soon. (Right, Josh? Soon?)

Free Trips.

I love to travel! Lately though, it feels like we can't do much traveling unless it's well...FREE. I have really come to enjoy free traveling. This month we traveled to Moab, UT for a job interview and didn't have to pay for a thing except for one dinner and gas. (Thanks to subway gift cards and coupon shopping at smiths) We spent two nights in a cowboy style motel for free thanks to Mountain Land. Also, while we were there it was FREE entrance to National Parks week. Life couldn't get much better than FREE.

My First Heating Blanket.

I will be the first to admit that living in NV and AZ has really weakened my defenses to the cold. I love the snow and the cold mostly because I think it is so beautiful, there are so many activities to do and I LOVE to wear sweaters and hoodies. But lately, I feel like a freaking popsicle and I can not unthaw. When Josh and I moved into the parents basement my mother got us a heating blanket. I remember thinking to myself, "I wont need this ridiculous warming device!" Talk about eating your own words. I look more forward to getting in my bed at night not to go to sleep but rather to get warm. :)

Language of Symbolism.

Last month I had an institute teacher strike a hidden cord in my heart. It's funny how one moment you can be totally oblivious to the fact that within you lies this hidden, burning passion to understand something and then the next moment that is all you can think about. I'm not one for speaking elegant, learning and understanding different languages but I can't help to be moved by symbolism. I feel like I have discovered a hidden world especially when it comes to the temple. Sure, there were things I saw and understood before but now each time I learn something new about symbolism I feel an added conviction to my testimony of the gospel. There is POWER in understanding symbolism. The more I seek and find the more there is to seek and find. I pray and hope that each of you, like I, will find the passion within to understand the greatness of God's work. For it is a great and marvelous work. I promise you that.

Let's Get Dirty!

This last weekend Josh and I had a chance to travel south to the beautiful town of Moab. Josh had a job interview on Friday with a company called Mountain Land. They showed us the town (all 10 minutes of it) and took us out to eat. The next day we spent the WHOLE day hiking and enjoying Mother Earth. Josh and I had a blast.

BOSCH it!

I don't know about you, but I know me and what I know, is that God did not bless me with Betty Crocker like skills (or for those of you who know Clint Satterthwaite's mother- apparently Betty Crocker should have taken some lessons from her ;) Her food is DELICIOUS!).

I have decided to take matters into my own hands - quite literally, actually. For Christmas My Oh so Sweet Lynie (mother) gave us (daughters) a BOSCH. Oh, the faces of confusion!

Last week I FINALLY attended a "free" class on how to use my incredibly terrifying machine called the Bosch. I LOVED it and felt quite inspired to give my own Bosch a twirl. Well, feeling inspired and doing are two totally different actions. Half way through my experience I realized that I put too much Gluten in. I quickly scooped most of it out, terrified that my bread would "stick" too much together. Gluten as I learned in my bread class helps bread stick together which is good if you put in the right amount.

My bread obviously did not turn out the way my teachers did, however, it did taste good which was a big surprise! Maybe Gluten doesn't have a taste?

Obviously, I know that my bread is not perfection (it's rather flat), but it was fun and if they had turned out it would have been boring. I'm excited to keep practicing with my Bosch and maybe it will get less intimidating.

And, if anything it gave me a chance to act silly with my awesome nieces. (of course that's the extra dough we didn't cook. ha)
