I wish I lived with a GIRL!!

Sometimes I wish that I still lived with some girls. I miss girl talk, combing each other's hair, painting each other's nails....oh wait....I can still do that....on my husband!! I am not saying that he is a girl, or anywhere close to that, but today I was soooooo bored and needed something to do. I found my old pedicure kit and decided to make Josh into my own little "doll" (don't get any sick ideas). I can't believe that he let me do this to him. He was a good sport. His feet look and feel a lot better now. They are so smooth. If any of you girls get bored try and do this to your boys! Tell me if they let you!!

A Night With the Bunkers!

Last night Josh and I got to go over to one of my bosses home and babysit two of their kids. They have four, but their two oldest girls were at some friends houses.

Paul, my boss just finished building a beautiful home in Henderson, NV. Josh and I showed up a few minutes late, because of traffic, and were amazed at how beautiful their house was. I turned to Josh and said, "maybe I should of done my hair?" Then he replied back, " maybe I should of worn some nice clothes?" We felt like we were walking into another world. Josh and I are two very casual people and didn't know if we would even be allowed to touch anything! After exploring the home with Paul and Denise (his wife) they left with some of their friends to go to the Fashion Place Mall and eat dinner. We had dinner with the kids. We helped them make a mess with cheese and spaghetti sauce. It was a great dinner. Their dog Toby ( a giant poddle) wanted to eat dinner with us too. Later, Drake and I went and looked at his Dad's big truck. Drake made sure to show me all the wheels and made me touch them. Then him and I jumped on the tramp until eventually everyone came out to join us! We played crack the egg, showed off tricks and had a lot of fun. Malon (not Mulon), Paul's little girl was fearless!! She is definetly Paul's daughter. Josh and Drake later left to go play with Drake's blocks and cars. His whole room was decorated with stuff from the cars show. He even had little cars on the ceiling fan!

Josh was so cute with Drake and I know one day he will be a wonderful father! I didn't bring a camera, so I just snapped a few pictures with my sometimes working camera phone.

Our First Easter Together

Each family has unique traditions. It is interesting to see, hear, and learn about all of the family traditions out there. This year as we celebrated Easter we combined a few of them to make everyone happy!! We had a BBQ with Jake and Emily on Saturday night, watched a movie, and colored eggs. The food was amazing!! Steaks, chicken, shrimp.....we ate like Kings and Queens. We boiled all of the eggs, except for one. Emily said that her family always has one egg in the basket that is not boiled. The person that gets that one is the "loser" for the day. After all the eggs were colored and beautiful we put them in a pretty basket and headed out to a hill to roll them down. That is a tradition at Josh's house. Jake didn't feel comfortable going to a park, so we went to a construction site. Jake still didn't feel comfortable because there was a NO TRESPASSING sign. He was like our little watch dog while we climbed up the dirt hill and had fun rolling all the eggs down it. Guess who got the "losser" egg? Of course....ME!! It was a lot of fun.

Our Wilderness Hike

On Saturday Josh and I went hiking "in the wilderness" aka Red Rock with Jake and Emily. This is only our second time to red rock and so far we love it. We chose to climb up Pine Creek Trail. Half the time we were in or around a creek and the other half of the time we were on a trail or bushes that we made into a trail. Everyone got wet except for Josh who was too busy making echo noises with other trail hikers. We ate some sandwiches near a little waterfall and did some nature bonding. Yes, I am a nature lover. I even have a subaru to prove it!
We nearly scared an old couple after we all four came out of the bushes in different places. They ended up taking the below picture. They told us we had to do a goofy picture. I think our serious picture looks just as goofy!

After a couple of hours hiking we finally returned home with a little sun, scratches on our legs, and another hike accomplished.

First Day of Spring 2008

Today was the first day of Spring. Though it has felt like spring here for almost a month, Josh and I decided to go to the Bellagio hotel on the strip and go look at their conservatory in celebration of Spring. For each season or holiday the Bellagio decorates their conservatory accordingly. We think it will be summer weather very soon so we might as well enjoy the nice cool spring weather while it is here. Today it was 80 degrees!
Later, as we walked home we stopped to watch the Bellagio Fountains. While we were there a lady stopped us and asked us if we were from the Mid West. She thought we looked like people from Ohio. She said it was a relief to see a nice looking mid western couple. We think that was a compliment, but I'm not sure. Below is the video of what we watched with the commentary of the lady who stopped us.

Happy Birthday To Momma Mills

Yesterday, March 19th, was Terri Mills' birthday!! She is in the above picture, left of Josh. Josh and I figured out last night that his age (24) plus my age (23) equals her age. We will let you do the math.... She was down this past weekend so we combined celebrating her birthday with Joshs. We enjoyed their company and were very glad they could come visit us (finally) in Vegas. We love the occasional visits from family and friends. As a personal note, I am very grateful for my mother-in-law for raising such a wonderful son. He treats me so well and I believe it is because his mother raised him to respect women. (either that or his sisters made him- ha) Thank you Terri! Josh and I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Saturday Night in Vegas!!

On Saturday night we went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner with all of Josh's family. They came down to celebrate Josh and Terri's birthdays. It was amazing! Everyone had leftovers, and since they were leaving the next day, they decided to leave all their food with us!! Josh is going to be eating Cheesecake factory food for three days!!
After dinner, we went to Penn and Teller!! It was so much fun. Those guys are hilarious. They did some amazing tricks. It was a lot of fun. After the show they were standing outside and signed our tickets and let us take pictures with them!! If their signature ever is worth anything we will be able to cash our signed ticket in for some big cash!!

The DAM half marathon

On Saturday March 15th, Josh and I ran a half marathon through six tunnels to get to the Hoover Dam in Boulder City, Nv. The day started out freezing cold with some wind. Then got alot warmer.
The scenery was spectacular!! It was really fun to run even though there were so many hills!! Josh hates hills!
We both did very well. Josh did amazing for his first half marathon, taking fourth in his division with the time of 1:44!! Thats my husband!! I took second in my division with the time of 1:57. It was a wonderful race- and maybe next year we will run it again when the soreness finally goes away!

Pizza & Brownies

It happened! Josh turned 24 on March 13th!! For his birthday we got a FREE 18" pizza. (We had a birthday coupon!) It wasn't the best pizza but it was BIG and FREE!! Both things Josh likes! So he was happy.

Later I made Josh some birthday brownies. I also decorated it for his birthday. I know, I know, move over Martha Stewart...

However, later when we returned to the brownies the candles had melted down and started to droop. Josh found this symbolic of how his body is also begining to droop as he gets older!! WHOOPS! That was not my plan....maybe Martha Stewart shouldn't move over quite yet!!

A Birthday! A Birthday!

Josh's birthday is tomorrow!(March 13th) He is turning 24! He keeps announcing how old he is getting. So to calm his fears I wrote him a birthday poem. I know its a day early but I get too excited to hold stuff in! Happy Birthday, Josh! I love you! Ode to my husband of not even a year
turning 24 he'll brave a new frontier-
To help him cope with turning old
I compiled a list to help him feel bold-
Of the many reasons I adore him
and his nice athletic trim-
I adore his light blue eyes
that calm all my cries-
I adore his desire and determination
that provides a firm foundation-
I adore his willingness to serve
and how he does it with verve-
I adore his yummy burritos that he cooks
I adore his always good looks-
I adore his constant charm
thats been known to set off the fire alarm!-
I adore his vast amounts of knowledge
that he's obtained from college-
I adore all his hair
I swear!-
I adore the way he smiles just for me
I think he'd agree-
Turning another year
wont be so severe!-
I LOVE YOU MILLSIE BOY!

NCCM

This weekend I had two of my North Carolina mission companions come visit me in Las Vegas for their spring break. They arrived late Friday night and then we all stayed up late conversing more about mission, updates and life in general! I am so grateful for my mission and the lessons it taught me. These lessons are forever embedded in my heart.

Saturday morning we went to the Las Vegas Temple together. It is so nice to go with friends and to learn together. I love the temple. I am trying to do better with my attendance. I know when I go my testimony grows of who I am and who I can become. It is so easy to forget who we really are, the potentional we hold, how much God loves us and to get caught up in the world.
Later that evening we went to the phantom! The show started at 7 pm. We left a little late because I tried to make dinner. Not a good idea! I underestimated the time. All I can say is that I tried. Nice thought right? We made Josh make a mad dash to get our tickets. We made it with 4 minutes to spare! It was a wonderful show! It is very similar to the movie and to other plays I have seen. However, everything in Vegas has to be bright and loud and there were a few parts with very bright lights and even fireworks!! A little girl behind us was screaming, " My eyes hurt- my eyes!" It was funny. Oh, yes, I do recommend ya'll to go see it!

A Wedding In Rexburg!!!

This past weekend was fantastic! It started with me making a mad dash to the airport so that I wouldn't miss my flight from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City!! Ray and Jana (two of my bestest friends from Vashon and maybe in life) were there to pick me up! We then made the lovely, long and boring drive to Rigby, Idaho! We stayed up late doing what girls do best- TALK about LIFE! Its amazing the kind of stuff you can learn from friends. Both stuff you wanna know and stuff you don't! Saturday was the big day! We all got ready to leave for the temple!

Before even leaving the house we got stuck in SNOW!! They told me to get out and push or do something...but I decided to take pictures instead and find someone else to help! I am so smart!

The Temple was amazing! It is so beautiful inside. I was stund. The sealer and sealing was perfect. Ray and I think that the sealer acted just like President Hinckley! He was so funny. He did a wonderful job even though it was his first sealing. He said many things that I needed to hear.

We all got a picture in front of the temple!! Ray asked a little girl to take it and she kept moving back farther and farther away to take the picture! It was so funny! Next time I think we will ask an older person to take the picture! I also got to feel Janas fetus kick me!! She told me it was kicking a little bit, but when I put my hand on her belly it started kickin so hard!! I thought her stomach was going to break!!
One of the best things I got to do this weekend was play in SNOW!!! It was heaven!! Oh how I miss snow!

Furry February and Mustache March

So for Joshs sake I must add this! For the month of February his class decided to all grow beards! Now it is March and they have decided to make it mustache march. I happen to think that most of them look like serial killers and rapists!!! But they are having fun with the spare time that they get to enjoy from not studying and attending class. Anybody have any ideas on what April will be? I'm scared to find out!!

Even my cute niece Teagan Mae is supporting mustache March!!

I think in life there is a lot to be scared of! Starting a BLOG is definetly one of my fears! I am a loyal facebooker and have decided after much peer pressure that starting a blog is the more mature thing to do. Dont worry though I will still be a facebooker!

On May 29th I was married to my best friend Joshua Mills. I am so grateful for him and his constant companionship! Even though he is very odd at times he is the one God knew i would need for all time and all eternity.

After getting married Josh and I packed up our bags and moved to Sin city itself! Josh was accepted to Grad school down here at UNLV for physical therapy. We got married on a tuesday and had to be down here by thursday. He loves school and is doing amazing! Would any one wonder differently? I am so proud of him!
I am working for a company called Aztech Materials Testing. I would describe my job as doing lazy peoples work but they actually have a title for it- its called a secretary! I am actually very very grateful for a job and for how nice everyone is at work.
That is a quick update on Josh and I. Hopefully I can continue to add good pictures and updates to this blog!! Enjoy!!!
